The Montessori Friends website was built with three main objectives; to inform, educate, and entertain. We wanted to build a site that would help perspective families get general information about our school. More importantly, we wanted to provide our current families with an opportunity to where they could look at some of the Montessori materials, see some examples of art work,or practice a song with their children. We wanted to create something that would give some time back to families, be it in the games area practicing shape knowledge and opposites, or enjoying our art museum and music room in the multimedia area. We hope you and your children enjoy!

This area of our website will be used every month to introduce and explain a Montessori Material.
Pink Tower
The Pink Tower consistes of 10 solid wooden pink cubes ranging in size from 10cm3 to 1cm3, in 1cm3 increments.
After presentation the student is free to use the Pink Tower in a number of exercises that help the child learn how to visually assimilate changes in three linear dimensions.
An indirect aim of this activity is the development of fine motor skill as the student practices placing the pink Tower peices on top of each other.
Some of the vocabulary used with this activity include small, smaller and smallest.
